Tires: Rim to Tire, oem steel wheels, oem rims

Question
Mr. Smith,
I have a 1994 F-150 with OEM steel wheels that are reaching the end of their life (rust, scaling, etc.).  I believe their size to be 15 x 7.5.  My question is, can these be safely replaced with a Z Racing rim of 15 x 7?  The Z rims seem to be the most reasonably priced replacements that I can find.

Thanks,

Answer
Rick,

According to my book, the OEM rims for a 1994 F-150 were 15 X 6.

But so long as you are using the OEM sizes - P215/75R15 and P235/75R15 - the tires will fit on the rims OK.

However, you need to be sure the rims are designed for use on your truck - and that's something only the manufacturer can tell you.
