Tires: Tire Cupping, jeep grand cherokee, 2005 jeep grand cherokee

Question
I recently purchased a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee which had less than 16,000 miles on it. Gradually, over the last 4,000 miles, I have noticed an increased roaring sound in the front end with some noticeable vibration. Upon inspection today, I noticed cupping on the front tires, but only on the inside of them. What could be the cause of this? The dealership seems to think it may be an alignment issue, but I don't seem to notice any problems with that.

Answer
Jennifer,

I agree with the dealership.

When you say you don't notice a problem, do you mean that you can see the difference between one degree and 2 degrees of camber?  If so, you are much better than I am.  And one degree difference is enough to cause the condition you mentioned.
