Tires: Tires and 4wd, jeep grand cherokee, grand cherokee

Hello,  I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee.  I have 2 of the same tires on the back.  And two different new ones on the front.  Will having different tires on the vehicle effect the Transfer Case?

If the vehicle ever goes into 4WD and the tires are different diameter (which is quite likely), the transfer case is going to bind up (or the tires are going to try to spin) and this could damage the internal gearing - very expensive to fix!

The rule of thumb is that any 4X4 or AWD needs to have 4 of the same tire in about the same state of wear to prevent damage to the mechanism to the splits the drive front to rear.
