Tires: touring tire, proper inflation pressure, ford c

Question
I bought some tires recently for my 94 ford c vic...and
they seemed so clunky, large, and truck-like compared
to the old tires. Someone said they thought they were "touring tires." The tires are OK, I don't have a problem with them, but what are "touring tires," and should I be using them on my Ford? Thanks in advance --max/Chicago

Answer
Max,

The first thing you should do is make sure you have the proper inflation pressure in the tires.

Find the vehicle placard.  It is usually located on a doorpost or in the glove box.  It will list the original tire size and the proper inflation pressure for that size.

Then check the tires to see if they are the same size as listed on the placard.  If they are, then check the pressure.

I'll bet that is the problem.  If not, post back.
