Tires: Speed Ratings, mercedes e320, freeway speeds

I am replacing tires on a Mercedes e320, 2001.  I believe H rating is recommended but we only drive highway/freeway speeds.  Is it necessary to get the H rating?  Would an H rating provide a better ride at lower speeds?  Are H rated tires considerably more expensive?  Do we have options and would you recommend any?

You can find quite a few good values in H rated tires.

Even though you may not drive near the rated speed, this makes the tire safer to use because you are using less of its capability.

And one of things you would give up by going to a lower speed rating is the respionsiveness of the steering.
