Tires: S-10 rim size, light truck tires, rim size

Question
I have a 2000 Chevy S-10 that I use for work on construction sites but have tires that are more like car tires. I have a lot of problems with flats and tires wearing out too quickly. I'd like to get light truck tires but the rims I have will not work, according to those I've talked to. I have P235-R16 tires. Do I need to change rims? If so, to what size to get the type of tires I need.

Answer
I don't understand why a LT tire won't work.  You should be able to find that size in a LT tire.  The rims are the same size. You most likly have P235/70R16 and would have to go with a LT235/75R16.  That should not be enough differance in size ratio to matter much.
