Tires: Tire suggestion, michelin ltx m s, bf goodrich

Question
Hello Jack !

I own a 05 Blazer LS 2dr. 2 wheel drive. It has the factory
Uniroyal's with 41.000 miles. I will need to replace them soon
and would "appreciate" your suggestions as to a solid built "yet"
resonably priced all terrian tire.

This vehicle is not 4 wheel drive so i need a tire with a more
aggresive tread pattern for off road use. The last time i went off
road was just after a rain storm and i was really dissapionted at
the amount of slippage i got from the Uniroyal's while driving
through muddy spots.
I live in the desert areas of Arizona, so i encounter alot of hard
dirt, gravel and sandy washes too. I rarely if ever drive in snow.
When i do travel to the forest areas of northern Arizona it is
usually during summer months which would include the
occasional rain storm.

The Uniroyal factory tires seem to be suited more for highway
than off road which i dont understand because the Blazer is a
truck. Most of my driving is highway "but" at the same time i
want to feel secure when off roading.

Any suggestions ?  Thanks !
Ron

Answer
My wife has an 03 TrailBlazer.  It came with BF Goodrich Open Trail T/A.  I got about 40K on them and they still had some more tread left.  I put the Michelin LTX M/S on it and love them.  I was going to go back with the BFG but Sam's had the LTX for only $10 more a tire so I tried them instead.
