Tires: tires-vibration and noise, pot hole, radial force

Question
I'm currently driving an '01 Olds Intrigue.  I hit a pothole at the end of June, and have noticed a progressively worsening vibration ever since.  I had all 4 tires balanced a few days ago and it didn't help at all.  It seems to vibrate most between 50 and 70 mph.  There is also a distinct "rhythmic humming" that can be distinguished from road noise, and coincides with the vibration.  The frequency of the noise decreases as speed decreases, but it is still present, even at low speeds.  At low speeds, the vibration is more of a "wobble" or "bounce."    The vibration is felt in the seats, not through the steering wheel.  It does not pull to one side, and it seems to disappear or diminish when applying the brakes.  The noise and vibration also seem to be worse when driving around a curve or bend in the road.  What could be causing this?  I've heard so many suggestions: radial force variation, bent rim, u-joints, bearings, struts, tire cord/tread separation, alignment etc.  I don't want to spend $$$ fixing something that isn't the real problem.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer
Emily.

DO THIS IMMEDIATELY!!!!

Drive slowly - no more than 30 mph - to the nearest tire store and purchase a new tire.  The tire is probably separating due to hitting the pothole.

If you don't take care of this right away, you may have a sudden detachment of the tread - LIFE THREATENING!!!

I'm surprised that the folks who balanced your tires didn't warn you of this!!  (You did tell them you hit a pot hole, right?)
