Tires: Truck Tires, goodyear wrangler gsa, goodyear wranglers

Question
JACK,
I have a 1999 Toyota Tacoma 2 wheel drive SR5 Pre-
runner. It has Goodyear Wrangler GSA 31X10.5X15
on it now. They are very worn and were on the
truck when I purchased it last March. The spare
is just like it but new. I am looking at Michelin
X-Radial LT type from Costco or Sam's Club ( Made
only for these stores ). I like them but they are
pricy. Is their any other brand out there as good?
Thanks, T.D. Smith

Answer
Hello, T.D Smith
I have the Michelin X-Radial LT on my 2003 Silverado. I bought the truck new and it had Goodyear Wranglers. They had such poor traction that I bought the Michelins after only 1000K. I could not believe the differance it made even in the ride and handling.  All I wanted was for the tires not to spin when it was raining. I really don't know of any tire that can compare to the Michelin. BFGoodrich Long Trail T/A is a pretty good tire and the Bridgestone Dueler H/L is also a good tire. I think for the extra $15 dollars a tire you can't go wrong with the Michelin's.

Hope this helps

Jack
