Tires: Tires for Standard Coventry 1924, coker tire, vintage tires

Question
Dear Sir,

Well we have a 1924 model Standard Coventry made in England. Right now we have repaired it to road conditions in India but it runs on cart tyres.
If possible please let us know where we could get the right tires for it to be driven.

Thank you.

Answer
There are three ways to go:

1)  Find out what the original tire size was and then locate a modern equivalent.  If I remember correctly, this will involve changing the wheels so the wider, lower aspect ratio tires will fit properly.

2)  Locate a source for vintage tires in your area.  Try the internet or clubs that specialize in your vehicle.

3)  There are quite a few sources of vintage tires in the US.  Coker tire is probably the most widely know.

Hope this helps.
