Tires: tire size, cadillac sls, mile warranty

I have a 1999 cadillac SLS that has on it 235 x 60 16, my question is , is the 235 the designation for the width ? what does the 235 stand for. Secondly without spending an arm and a legg, what would be the best tire for all weather and low noise?

The 235 on your tire is tires heighth,On your question about the best tire for you. That really depends on you and how much you are willing to spend ,the better the quanity the better..But if you are in desparate need of tires and don't have enough for some really good ones wal-mart has some called douglas xtra-trac which is only a 40,000 mile warranty but there is other better tires then that.Uniroyal is also a good tire i would recommend its affordable and very smooth in ride
