Tires: Humming from front tire, left front tire, left turn

Question
Hi Barry,
While driving on a highway, a piece of concrete curb fell into the drive lane and I consequently hit it with my left front tire. While I did not get a flat like the guy in front of me, I did manage to put a dent in the rim of my 1999 Saab 9-3.  Thereafter I noticed a humming coming from that tire, though only when making a left turn at driving speeds (20+mph). I have since rotated a different tire/rim combination and the humming/minor vibration is still there. Do you have any idea what this may be? Is it a bearing or something...thanks!

Answer
Scott,

I think the problem may well be a bearing, but it's difficult to diagnose these kinds of things over the computer.  So get the vehicle looked at.

BTW, If you dented the wheel, you probably damaged the tire, and this might show up later as a tread separation.,  Get both of those replaced soon.

Hope this helps.
