Tires: Tire Brand matters, toyo tires, michelan tires

Question
Hi Wade
I have a Nissan Sentra GXE. I recently replaced my tires with Dunlop in Walmart. The spec are, as far as I remember, 40,000miles, Temp B, Traction A, Speed S. However, my brother told me the tires suck and I should have picked Michelan. He insisted that Michelan tires are safe and mine are not. Is he right? Should I always buy Michelan? Thanks

Answer
if you are comparing apples to apllesd as far as mileage warranties michalins aren't any better  first of all michelins used to be made in europe only and were very good now the are mostly made in asia as are 95% of all tires  quality control has gone down   also michelin are known for having terrible liners in them making flat repairs sometimes impossible  i believe your brother has been swept up by the advertising michelin does    i honestly believe toyo tires are the best you can buy the used far more material in there tires
