Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: Heat Cycling, competition tires, motorcycle tires

If I heat cycle my new bike road tires, will it offer me the same benefits as if they competition tires? The way I read what is happening in the industry is that this treatment gives better handling, feel and performance = plus longevity!

I am not an expert in motorcycle tires. Like you, I have read and tried to educate myself on these things. I have read extensively that different brands of tires will heat up and increase grip differently than some other brands and even models within brands. It is important to find the information on your specific brand and model tire and how it reacts on your motorcycle.

It is my understanding that street tires are different than competition tires and those differences must be respected. I also feel compelled to urge you to recognize that the street is not the place to explore the limits of performance for tires.

In the past when I had questions about a particular tire on my motorcycle I sent an email to the tire manufacturer. I was pleased to receive a very detailed response indicating the tire manufacturer's representatives where very knowledgeable about their tire and the suspension of my motorcycle. I suggest you try to contact your tire manufacturer and give them specific information about your bike and riding styles.
