Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: Starter Dirt bike, expert profiles, dirt bike

Hey, I'm looking to buy a dirt bike.

I'm 5' 11" 165lbs, 20 yrs old, with no experience riding motorcycles. I'll likely get a 250 2-stroke or a 450 4-stroke but was wondering but the pros and cons are between the two.

I'll be test driving some Honda's and Suzuki/Yamaha/KTM etc, I guess to choose among these is what feels better, tank size, how it handles. I'll be trail riding to start off. Thanks for the info!

I don't have enough recent dirt bike riding experience to give you a qualified response on a specific make or model. But you are correct that trying several and determining which one fits you physically and also for your intended use.
I will suggest that you use caution in not starting out with a bike that is a challenge for your abilities. You will have more fun on a bike you are comfortable riding rather than challenged by the bike instead of the trail.

I'm sorry I cannot offer more specific advice but I suggest you look at the Expert profiles on here and find someone more experienced for your questions on a dirt bike.
