Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: Motorcycle riding in the city/London, advancedbiker, advanced

Question
Hi,
I'm a biker about to begin a whole new part of my life my wife and I are up and moving to NW9 London in a few weeks, i'm about to take delivery of one of my dream bikes - an '03 Daytona 600 :-D Having only ridden for 2 years in total i wouldn't say i'm vastly experienced but i am careful ( i won't try and 'enjoy' a road i've never been on before) and competent. That said i've never really driven in a city before, people keep saying i'm lucky coz it's so much cheaper to run a bike in london. I'm just a bit apprehensive that's all, i know the bike i'll have is a bit wobbly at slow speeds because the weight is so finely balanced for better handling at high speed. Any and all helpful hints you could give me about city riding, especially london specific stuff would be massively appreciated, many thanks
Iain

Answer
Hello Iain

Tried this morning to answer your query, but lost the tinternet.  Here goes again.

If I am right NW 9 is not a bad area for runs out into Hertfordshire, where I have been doing some work, good roads.

Filtering and riding in London is a challenge, where I would leave a gap for safety, in London, somenone darts into it......
Slow riding a good tip is use the back brake more to counteract the forward motion of the throttle.   Try it on a quite car park, it works.

Please keep in touch and let me know how it goes.
