Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: Choosing a dirtbike, kawasaki klr 650, ridercourse

Question
Hi, Im a 35 yr old and was interested in riding again I did when I was 15 and that was a long time ago, I want to get back into it but just trail riding no jumping or anything like that I weigh about 250 and Im about 6'1" tall would you think a suzuki 650 enduro would be right for me?

Answer
You may want to consider taking a MSF RiderCourse to reintroduce yourself to motorcycling. Since your interest is in trail riding you may want to also consider the flexibility offered by a dual-sport bike. It's like having two bikes in one, the best of all motorcycling worlds. Light and maneuverable for street commuting but ready and willing to go off-road. As far as ergonomics are concerned, just go out and sit on some bikes for size and fit. A 650cc bike should satisfy your power requirements. I am not familiar with many enduro models, but I can suggest the Kawasaki KLR 650 as an excellent dual -sport choice. Hope this helps out.
