Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: safety, motorcycle rider, motorcycle safety

Question
what do think could be done to help the sfety of motorcyclist

Answer
This is too broad of a question to answer! There are so many things that can be done to improve motorcycle safety, I wouldn't know where to start. I've written two books on the subject.

Generally, the safety resides with the motorcyclist him/her self. The bike won't protect them. The road won't protect them. Other drivers certainly won't protect them. It's up to motorcyclists to protect themselves.

There are three categories in which a motorcycle rider can improve their safety: mental strategies, riding skills, and protective gear. Having a "plan of attack" and a defensive riding strategy is a good mental ability that you use every time you ride. Learning and practicing skills, such as what you'd learn in a safety training course or track school, is also very valuable--you know how to control the bike when things go wrong in traffic. And wearing high-viz riding gear that can protect you from the elements and the road (if you fall down) is the last line of defense.

If you have more specific questions, please feel free to send them my way. If you are looking for more broad knowledge/answers, I recommend you read my two books, How to Ride a Motorcycle and Ride Hard, Ride Smart.
