Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: 750 Katana, regulator rectifier, using a voltmeter

Question
I really dont know if this falls in your expertise?  However I have a 750 Katana..I took it out for a ride last week, I parked my bike..... In the Am..I went to the bike, and there was no power?  My battery has been checked and is holding a load....Unfortunately, service departments are to busy preparing vehicles for the season..
I really am confused as to what may have ooccurred, if this isnt in your realm of expertise, perhaps you can lead me to thge right Expert.....thanks in advance

Answer
Could be a loose battery connection. Even just something not "rock solid tight" could cause this.

Just because a battery has a charge doesn't mean it can hold it or use it to start the bike. It could be the battery is shot, it also could be your regulator/rectifier system (charging system) isn't working.

Check your wiring, battery connections, and try using a voltmeter to read charging output. Pull the battery, take it in somewhere and have it tested.
