I have a 2003 Harley  Flhtc with delphi fi. The bike starts fine but after it runs a few seconds 3 to 5 as the idle comes down to about 1000 rpm the bike begins to surge between 800 rpms to about 1200 rpms it does this for a couple of minutes then pops back through the air cleaner and dies. I have checked the intake and exhaust for leaks and they don't have any, and the compression is fine. If you try to ride it. It feels down on power and still surges 500 to 1000 RPM while try ride it at any speed.

Please forgive me, I'm not much of a mechanic.

It sounds like either one of the injectors is partially clogged or one of the coils is fried. There could be an sensor for one of the injectors that is bad and causing this--might even be in the computer.
