Used Cars: Which car?, nissan altima, vw jetta

Hi Ray
I am going to buy a used auto with 20000 miles or so. I have narrowed it
down to two vehicles. Either a Nissan Altima 2.5 liter 4 cylinder or a VW
Jetta 2.5 liter 5 cylinder. Both cars fit my price range and driving style. I
am rough on my vehicles. I know very little about mechanics and pay for
all work on my vehicles including PM. Which do you think is the better buy
and why. If you're not familiar with these cars thanks for taking the time to
read this. Thank you in advance for your input.

I like your style of Q " If not familiar with these cars thanks for taking the time to read this " Well I am not a mechanic, you selected 2 very good choices that both are excellent in my mind,,, how we separate them now becomes the factor.
