Used Cars: Used car, front wheel bearings, tie rods

Question
I bought an as-is vehicle contingient on the dealer safety inspecting it and fixing problems if any were found. They told me there were no problems, the brakes went out in a week and then a mechanic told me the vehicle had serious wiring issues which could catch on fire while I drive. It was an obvious issue with the wiring, he said, it would just take someone looking under the dash to see that the wiring harness was all melted. The front end needs all new tie rods, both front wheel bearings and I already had the e brake fixed since it was broken. The dealer also assured me the 4wd works...but I found out a week after purchase that the 4wd does not work. The dealer told me that none of this is their problem and that the law protects them and it's my responsibility to get all these things fixed.....is that true? I live in Alaska

Answer
Hi Sarah

The key word in the bill of sale is AS IS and unless you can prove misrepresentation it's a done deal.

The dealer told you there were no problems ?,,, They lied to you but covered their angle making the sale AS IS,,, I do know how to deal with dealer's that scam the consumers, if your interested to persue to blemish the dealers reputation send me this same question through allexperts, except this time in the subject line submit the name of the dealership and add the words " are scammers lied to me ".

To bad you did not get to study my website for some pointers prior to purchase
