Used Cars: buying a truck, private party, tune up

I bought a truck for work from a private party was told that it only needed a tune up didn't sing no papers drove truck to work an broke down learnd that the truck had parts the weren't even for that truck they jus threw it together I lost my job as a result of this is there anything I can do

If you have not signed any papers, you should not be held to the vehicle.
I would just bring the truck back to them, and leave it there.
Now the question is did you already pay for it, and how did you pay for it.
If they are not willing to give you your money back, then you are probably
going to have to take them to court, which you should win pretty easy,
if you in fact signed nothing.
