Used Cars: used sports, mitsubishi eclipses, honda civics

Hi, I am 17 yr old in Highschool and ill be taking auto tech 1 starting my sophmore year.  Right now I drive a scion tc (automatic). I was wondering if you can guide me to figure out the best makes and models of a used sports car that can be modded Manual of course with the price range about 3grand or less.

Well back in my day, mustangs and camaros were the hands on favorites, but now a day, it seems that the honda civics and mitsubishi eclipses seem to be a fav.  It really depends on what type of mod you are wanting to do, old style, big loud motors with bad gas mileage, or lawn mowers with glass packs, but good gas mileage.  Being that you are modifying it yourself, you should be able to find some of either of these in your price range.  Though the civics and eclipses will probably be the more "Economical" approach.
