Used Cars: Benz or Beamer-Repair Cost, bmw x5, heavy changes

Hi, I am looking to buy a used C230, C240, or C300. I found a C240 with 34,000 miles. I am just completely a BMW X5 lease. The repairs were costly but rarely needed on my X5. I hear that Mercedes is costly to own because of repairs. What is the best luxury car to buy? (I plan on keeping the car for 5 yrs or more).

I have always liked BMW, You can buy a certified used BMW and you get a 5yr 100k warranty including maintenance, all you do is take care of the tires, You have to buy the maint agreement but it's well worth it. On a X5 dealer cost is about $1200, you can negotiate it to about $1500 to $1700. With the maintenance they do your oil changes, brakes and rotors, they even cover down to your wiper blades. I heard from several sources that Mercedes is going to make heavy changes in motors and transmissions because of problems. Mercedes makes a good car (my sister owns one) but as far as a investment in a luxury car with no cost in up keep, I would definitely buy a BMW. You can drive it for 5yrs and pay minimum out of pocket.
