Used Cars: 4runner, toyota sr5, 4runner

Hi, I am looking into getting my first car, and i have been considering either a
1996 or 1998 toyota sr5 4runner.  both cars are automatic, 3.4l v6... My
parents want me to get something reasonably big, they think that it is safer.  
the 1998 has about 160,000 miles on it, and costs 5500.  the 1996 has about
100,000 miles and is $6000.  
Any thoughts? is 160,000 miles to many for a 4runner?

Toyota 4runners are excellent trucks when maintained, my personal choice would be to go for the 1998 as its the newer body style and more elegant. Make sure you get it checked by a mechanic,as for records on the truck and carfax it, if it all checks out the truck will last you a long time with proper maintenance. Good luck!
