Used Cars: used car help, franchise stores, head gasket

Question
A used truck was just bought on Wednesday and on the way home it started over heating. The truck was bought "as is".  I do not think there is any type of warranty on it. What options do I have? Is the dealership liable at all for the repairs? The truck was bought out of town. It is sitting at a different dealership now waiting for repairs to be done to it. The dealership who sold the truck was contacted the next day, and gave the run around since it was Mothers Day Weekend. Now that it is Monday the dealership is trying to back out of the whole situation. The dealership all cashed the check as well? Do I have any options available to me?

Answer
different states have different laws concerning this type of situation, in Texas if the vehicle has a federal trade commission (FTC) buyers guide on the vehicle showing it As Is, and you pay for the vehicle and drive it off the lot, the transaction is complete and you the buyer are responsible for all repairs that have to be made.  Unless there you can prove that the dealership implied that they would fix any problems within a set amount of time or miles. Sometimes the vehicle you purchase may be under factory warranty still, this depends on the year make and model of vehicle, you didn't supply me with that info.  Most reputable new vehicle franchise stores would help you in some way with the repair, if you brought it back to them.  Sounds like a bad head gasket or bad electric fan, however could be that it just needs a coolant flush or a new thermostat. please let me know I like to keep up on problems with different vehicles.
