Used Cars: Car title, ford taurus, time dealer

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus that I purchased for a small time dealer they financed me directly without the need to go to a financing company. Well I was 1000 dollars from paying the car off and the dealer closed they left and they let alot of customers without titles. I was wondering if you know of anyway or if you know how can I get a title for this car? I appreciate any help you can assist me in, Thank you in advance.

Thats an interesting situation... Generally the dealership financed you through a larger company.. If you are still making payments.. you should be able to find out who those payments are going to, they should have the title. If nothing else.. I'd go have a talk to the DMV and see what they can do for you - they can probably run the VIN and see who holds the title, and help you contact them.
