Used Cars: Used Benz, yahoo autos, best bet

Question
Hi

I am thinking about buying a used C-class Benz
Year arround 2004 with about 30'000K or less.
How much should I expect to pay and where are the deals?
I live in NV (close to CA)

Thanks

Thomas

Answer
Tom,
I appologize for my late reply, I've been extra busy recently. Anyways, as for the used C-class... your best bet is to shop around at every local dealer and private seller withing however far you are willing to drive. Websites like oodle.com, cars.com, autotrader.com, and yahoo autos (autos.yahoo.com) - will search both dealers and local sellers. C-class prices can vary greatly based on trim levels... so it's hard to give you an exact value. You can reply with specific details, or use the blue book tool on autos.yahoo.com if you know what you are looking for. I'm assuming you know that any Mercedes will be very costly to own and repair... also they are not well known for amazing reliability, and perhaps you should consider a lexus or BMW ... even Infinity... if you are willing.

I need to know what C-class it is before I can give more specific advice. C240, C230, CLK430, etc... there are a lot of them...

As far as getting the best deal.. It will really depend. The best thing you can do is shop around. Know how to haggle and handle the car buying process. Try to buy before the end of the year, the dealerships will be more willing to sell at a discount to avoid paying taxes on their inventory.
