Used Cars: used cars, honda accord lx, honda dealership

Question
QUESTION: I bought this car from a car lot "as-is" and it had the srs (airbags) light on. my question is there a law in Georgia about selling cars that have a safety hazard?

ANSWER: Well I am not familiar with laws in Georgia, you will need to contact the Used Car Commission of Georgia.  Here in oklahoma, if you sign the as is form, there is not much you can do.  Question:  Was the light on before you bought the vehicle?  I am assuming that you drove the vehicle before you bought it.  I am just wandering why this was not addressed before you bought it.  I know for myself, if I sell one with an air bag light on, which is very few and far between, I make a note of it, and make them initial the note.

QUESTION: Ok. How do i get ahold of Used Car Commission of Georgia? To make you understand all of this I will have to tell you the whole story. So I bought a 2000 honda accord lx from a car lot down the road from my house. The guy told me that the light was on and that it just had to be reset, but he never made me sign anything about that. He said other than that it is a great car. Well i took the car to a honda dealership here and they said it would cost me $78 just to tell me why the light is on. I am only 19 years old I am going to college and have a part time job, i dont have the extra $78 for honda to just tell me why the light is on, and try to pay my other bills. He kept stressing that I get a warranty that I would pay an extra $800 and it would cover everything but the belts and the clutch. He kept saying that I should get this. Well on the 2nd day that we had the car the check engine light came on and i got it checked out and it was a cylindar 3 misfire. so i bought new sparkplugs and wires that cost me $75. well it is still misfiring cylindar 3. the mechanic that i took my car to thinks i need a whole new head. well on the fifth day the clutch went completely out. i called the guy i bought the car from and he told me to take it to this shop and he would have it fixed and we will work something out on the bill. i said ok. now the guy i bought the car from is trying to bill me the whole $800 clutch repair fee and telling me i could just pay that and not the warrenty fee. its like he knew them things were going to happen. So I was wondering if this problem does consists (him telling me i have to pay for the clutch repair fee) and we go to court. Is there a law in geogia that says he should not have even had that car on the lot?
