Trucking: Employment, cr england trucking, student overview

Question
Have you ever heard of CR England trucking. Because they offer to train you for your cdl and promise immediate hire I called to find out more.

What through me off is you earn about only 4 and change per week and your gone 3-4 weeks at a time with about only 3 days being back.

You know how I feel about the pay without telling you but is this typical for a long haul? I always thoughts 3-4 days for a long haul was average.

Answer
Gene, yes I have heard of CR England.  They are one of the larger well established carriers.  I was not aware of this program so I checked it out. http://www.crengland.com/truckingjobs/index.jsp?page=student_overview
This sounds like a really good opportunity to learn and get the experience you will need to be considered for any good driving jobs.  It looks like there is a clear path to becoming a fully qualified driver.  3-4 weeks on the road is not unusual for a long haul carrier and no matter where you get your experience you will need to pay your dues.  I recommend you go for it if you are serious about making a career as a driver.
Good luck.
