Trucking: New Mexico I.F.T.A. and or fuel tax, dot number

Question
My husband has been faced with New Mexico not accepting I.F.T.A or at least something like that he had to pay $50 to cross thru what can we do as far as that goes for our company so we do not have to pay each time we cross or have to deliver to this state?   I may need to clarify this better I am not sure thank you

Answer
If your vehicle's gross weight exceeds 26,000 lbs you will need IFTA and also a New Mexico Weight Distance Tax Permit.  You will need to file the same miles on your IFTA with the New Mexico WDT Permit each quarter after you get the permit they will mail you quarterly forms to complete.

You can obtain the permit online at https://efile.state.nm.us/uls/default.aspx
or call me 913-271-6923 to discuss consultant fees to obtain this permit for you.
