Trucking: Owner Operator looking for container work, direct shippers, ctpat

Hi Jim, myself and my husband started or own trucking business. We have 2 trucks and 2 48ft trailers. We are running under brokers and direct shippers. We are looking to go back into the container business. We have our scat code although we don't know what we need to do to get set up thru the ports to pull containers. Would you have any helpful advise to lead us in the right direction to help us? Thanks

Tonda, I am not well versed in that industry but check out the association website:

You will need to get up to speed on:
TSA, http://www.tsa.gov/what_we_do/layers/twic/index.shtm
C-TPAT, http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/trade/cargo_security/ctpat/
And any other port security requirements.
Check the ports you intend to serve for specifics.
