Trucking: experience, nickles and dimes, heartland express

Question
Hi, I have a had a CDL since 1994 when i got out of truck driving school. since then I have had 4yrs of experience spotting trailers and the rest up till now as a chip hauler. I havnt had much OTR, just local.  I have had to keep a log over 100miles though. I think its time for a step up. Do you think I would have any trouble being hired through a company for OTR? I even thought of buying my own truck but im still reading up on that one and to many risk. Tired of nickles and dimes!  Thanks- Dale

Answer
Hi Dale,

I don't think you'll have any trouble getting hired for OTR. I would drive for a company before buying a truck. If the company treats you right and you can get a lot of miles, then buy a truck. Sunco Carriers is a 100% O/O company and they are pretty good. Crete Carriers and Heartland Express are pretty good companies as company drivers. If you have any other questions, let me know.

God Bless, Israel
