Question
Hello J.P.
We have a new steel company coming to town and i know some of the owners of this company, now i want to start a flatbed trucking company hauling cut steel. What licenses do i need and and what will i need to know from the startup to get the Tractors and flatbeds,(5 to start) the best way, and to the road, i can get the loads. I have been a terminal manager and dispatcher for years but never handled the license and the bills involved, can you please help. I have to Jan-March 08 to be ready, thanks Richard

Answer
Hi Richard, You will need Federal Authority, IRP License for the tractors, IFTA fuel permits, and state license for the trailers. Your drivers will need CDL License. Depending on which state you are located, if you will be crossing state lines and which states, may need more permits. For more information check my web site: www.longdataser.com and e-mail me at JLong2500@aol.com  I will be glad to help you with obtaining most of what you will need.  Good Luck J P Long 864-908-4908
