Trucking: authority, dmv office, type business

do i need my own authority to do dump truck hauling. also how do i get my ifta sticker and pay fuel taxes for this type business

Hi Lorenzo, If you are hauling and being paid by someone else, then you would most likely need authority, depending on which state or states you haul. Florida for example does not require authority within the state. If cross state lines, then you would need Federal Authority and Process Agents, which I can help you with. The IFTA fuel stickers are issued by each state. Contact you local DMV office for them. You will need to keep record of miles traveled in each state and fuel bought in each state to determine if you owe fuel taxes each quarter.
