Trucking: I need HELP..Looking to start a dump truck business, dump truck business, dump trucking

Hi,
I'm completely and totally new to the dump trucking business.  I live in Milwaukee, WI.  I've heard that their are great opportunities for minorities in the trucking business.  However I know nothing of the business other than personal self researched information.  I would like to know where do I start, what do I do, where do I begin even more in depth research at.  I'm very interested in the business of trucking and motivated I just need that little extra push. If you can help I would greatly appreciate it.

There is a lot of experienced dump drivers that can help you there.  Also look at www.classadrivers.com.  They also have a great forum.

The Small Business Administration can help you with a load if your looking to buy your own truck.  Contact your local SBA for info.

I would contact local companies that need dump drivers.  See what you need to do to drive for them.  If they can help train you or if you need to go to a truck driving school.  Even if you want your own truck, start out by driving for someone else first.  Get to know the business.  You are in great demand.  Go out, knock on some doors and sell yourself!  Some of the guys that I hire were the ones who never left me alone.  They wanted to drive for me bad, and they called me all the time!  Doors will open for you.
