Trucking: IS THIS LEGAL?, trailer wheels, legal question

Last week a dog ran under my trailer wheels. The dog was injured but only for stitches. Now the owner of the dog has contacted my company. (I am a Company driver) They want restitution for the hospital bill. Now I had to fill out an accident report for a dog.I am in the process of looking for a new driving job. Now i will have this on my impeccabley clean driving record. I want to know if this is legal for the company to do this? thanks

Hi Michelle,
This seems like a legaL question.   I personally, do not see that your company has to pay anything.  I do not think
you should have to be charged with the incident. This does not seem like an "accident" and certainly not something that
should be put on your good record.   Good Luck .  J P Long
