Truck Repair: Truck Shut Off, peterbilt 387, overnight guy

Question
Husband drives a Peterbilt 387 with an Eaton (possibly a Fuller) 10 speed automatic transmission. Last night in that big storm up north he shut off going down the road. It's such a common problem that the overnight guy knew to tell him to pull some fuse for about 8 minutes, put it back, and go on down the road. He only got a few miles and it happened again, but this time the fuse thing didn't work. He was stranded on the side of the road all night because his after-hours and weekend people are morons. Someone told him it might be a bad ground.

Answer
Hi Crystal,
Being that the truck shut itself down there is an electronic fault that the computer picked up.
Unfortunatly when dealing with electronics you need to have the trouble code downloaded to find what the computer is complaining about. without a code it is just random shots in the dark to figure out what the problem is. it is quite likley that i could be a bad ground but there is no way to know for sure without knowing the trouble code. Sorry I couldn't be more help,

Matt
