Truck Repair: 97dodge1500-hard start, ballast resistor, walmart

(this is a 5.2L) Seems like low voltage to ignition coil on crank circuit.  When key is turned to run, engine bucks like it wants to start but doesn't. Is there a ballast resistor in crank circuit?  Any ideas?  Can't find schematic online to see the wiring to the ignition coil w/the key in start and run position.

Hi Bill,
have you pulled out a plug to see if you are getting spark? if not check for power at the coil. given the yar of the truck it may be something like an ICM(ignition control module) but you need to prove it first....you will have to go to your local parts store or walmart...etc. and buy a manual. you need info...guessing will not prove anything. let me know what ya find and we'll see what we can do.
