Truck Repair: N14 versus C-15, cummins n14, cat engines

In your opinion, is the Cummins N14 as durable as a Cat C-15 with the same level of maintenance? We are buying a used truck with about 300,000 miles and are debating as to whether a used Cummins is the right way to go. Any opinion on this subject would be appreciated.

In terms of durability, I can vouch for N14 powered engines any day. However, my little exposure to CAT engines makes it impossible for me to categorically make a comparation. I can assure you that even at above 300,000 miles with adequate maintenance, you will get value for money if you use an N14 powered engine.
