Truck Repair: 1994 4 wd Chevy Radiator CK series, radiator hose, 4 wd

We are trying to drain the radiator so that we can put some sealant in but there is not a drain on the bottom of the radiator. Is there some trick to draining it that the manual is not making clear?

On the drivers side, from the engine compartment side, there is a drain valve. Strange looking one, but it is there.
I normally remove the lower radiator hose, but you may not want to drain that much.

You could remove a heater hose where it returns coolant to the radiator on the passengers side.
