Truck Repair: 1995 M-11 in a freightliner, coat hangers, cam followers

Question
I am trying to replace the timing gear housing and I am having trouble removing the cam gear. was told by a local dealer that there is no puller for this gear and it can be removed by heating the gear, this has not worked and I could use some advise on removing the gear and also how to reinstalling the same.
Thanks, Robert

Answer
Personally I don't remove the gear if I can help it.Ill remove the pushtubes, get coat hangers to hold cam followers up,and remove the cam with gear still on it.Cummins does make a gear puller but I have broken the gear trying to press some off before so I just stopped doing it.
