Dont know what a e-1 is but that fault could be the derating problem you are having meaning a bad sensor or wiring to sensor.

Answer
It might not be a bad idea to get it calibrated correctly for the CPL of the engine.HP does not matter if the CPL is the same, meaning you can uprate it if it can go higher in HP.They can see what the fault codes are then too.Cummins uses 3 digit codes on the older engines.
