Truck Repair: Daytime running lights., ford f150 4x4, daytime running lights

DRL's do not shut of when I turn of my truck (97 Ford F150 4x4, 4.6L)  I normally have my autolamp swicth on low setting so the lights will automatically go out on their own when I shout of my truck.  This did not happen of course and the lights stayed on all night.  I was boosted in the morning.  I have since taken out the number 9 fuse for my DRL's.  I hope you can help.

The DRL's have a sensor and a module --- the module can short out and hold the lights on after the truck is shut off.  Price a module through a Ford dealer -- if it is too expensive -- check salvage yards -- you can locate these trucks in salvage yards.
