Truck Repair: Timing chain and sprockets, ford 460, chain and sprockets

Question
I have a 1988 Ford 460 in a 36 foot motor home. I recently had to replace a the timing chain and sprockets. When I compaired the original Ford crankshaft sprocket, I noticed that the timing mark was offset from the keyway toward the left.  The new Cloyes double row crankshaft sprocket was lined up with the keyway. Will this have any adverse affect on the engine?
                            Thank You, John

Answer
If they are not installed right it will change the cam timing(make the valves open sooner or later)which will have a noticeable affect on the operation of the eng.Being in chasis it will be harder to check it but they do make tools to time the cam to the engine but some factors will have to be known like what degree of the crankshaft revolution the valves open.
