Truck Repair: ford ranger vacumn valve, vacuum hose, emission system

Question
I have a vacumn valve device with three small hard plastic tubing pieces going to it.  One from a small cylinder, one from the manifold intake area and the other runs to a switch on the right hand body wall.  The vacumn device has two ports on the top and one out the bottom.  Can you tell me which port goes where?

Answer
Hi Jeff,
I can't answer that, but what you need is a vacuum hose diagram.
Normally there is one under the hood somewhere, but if not, you can see a copy of yours at the public library. Go to the refference section, and look in a Motors, or Chilton manual from that model year.
You will need to know the engine size, and if there is any special type of emission system on it.
Also the year.
