I own a 99 Silverado extended cab.  The AC will only blow out of the vents. I have tried a new switch selector and that did not fix the issue.  What could be causing this?  Also, my passenger door power lock works intermittently.  Does it just need to be cleaned?  Thank you for your help.

Hi Frank,
If you hear the door lock trying to work, I have had good luck with a can of liquid wrench sprayed through holes and access openings at the latch mechanism.

The air flow control door motor may be your problem on the A/C. It could be the module, but I would suspect the motor behind the middle of the dash.  Mode door.

Van,
Sorry for such a late follow-up.  How do I access the air flow control door motor?  Does the dash need to be pulled or is there an access panel?  Thank you.

Answer
Hi Frank,
I have done them on older models, but not a 99.
The ones I did, the center section of the dash, where the CD player goes, just came right out, and you could get to it from there.
Actually, there is one of the motors just above the gas pedal, that I believe runs the door you want. It actually runs about three doors. The one in the middle of the dash controls mix, or temp.
