Question
when i went to move truck i pushed in clutch and put it in gear nothing happens. i can change gears while the truck is running without using the clutch and there is no grinding noise.i can put it in any gear and nothing happens. what does it sound like to you

Answer
Hello George,
Actually, it sounds like the clutch is completely gone.
If a 90 has a hydraulic clutch release, rather than mechanical linkage, there is the possibility that the slave or master cylinder stuck in the disengaged position. That could happen if someone put oil in the clutch master cylinder, rather than brake fluid. The piston cups will just swell up, with even just a little bit of oil.
If it is mechanical linkage, make sure something hasn't gotten cought somewhere, holding it.

Another possibility is the transfer case is in neutral, but I would expect the main transmission to grind or at least make a noise, especially if shifting from a foreward gear to reverse.

Possible that the shift lever is broke, and not really shifting anything, but I seriously doubt that. You could tell something is different there.

Actually, the throwout bearing on the transmission input shaft could be stuck in the disengaged position also, but another I doubt it.
