Truck Repair: fuses and cable, fuse holder, cobban

Question
Sir,
My question concerns electrical current. I am told that to prevent voltage drop between battery and spot lights, I must use a heavy cable eg 5mm diameter. However, a fuse contains a very thin wire - which must surely inhibit the flow of electricity? I would very much like to understand this.
thank you

Answer
To get more current to the spot light you will need to have the same size wire. You might can get a mountable fuse holder to get the correct size wire so you will not loose current flow.I really couldnt tell you how big 5mm wire is.We use different measurements like 2,4,8,10,12,16,18 gauge.I dont know what kind of auto/truck parts stores you have to get things from to tell a part number of such a device.Email me so I can send pictures of what Im talking about.DrDiesel@jam.rr.com.
